
Henley Royal Regatta
This past Friday our Senior Men's 4+ headed to Henley for qualifiers. After some strong recent results the boys went into this race with high hopes. On the day of the race, the course was plagued with a strong headwind; far from ideal for our lightly weighted crew. Nevertheless, the 4+ boated with faith in themselves and the plan. Marlow Regatta
This past Saturday the HRR Senior Men's 4+ attended a very warm and sunny Marlow regatta, hosted at Dorney Lake. The four sweated out 6th place in the time trial, to take them straight into the A final. In the A final the four managed to edge out a lead over Brookes from the start, finishing strong by rowing through Bowdoin USA in the last 500m. The final overall result was 4th place, with a 6:42. Reading Am Regatta
This past weekend SURC's took a few boats down to Reading Amateur Regatta. For some of the Senior Women this was the last opportunity to represent the club before they departed from university. The Senior Men's 4+ were using this race as part of their build up to HRR. On Saturday the the Men's 4+ raced three rounds against Putney Town, Thames RC, and a Monmouth/Bristol City crew.
