Reading Am Regatta

This past weekend SURC's took a few boats down to Reading Amateur Regatta.

For some of the Senior Women this was the last opportunity to represent the club before they departed from university. The Senior Men's 4+ were using this race as part of their build up to HRR.

On Saturday the the Men's 4+ raced three rounds against Putney Town, Thames RC, and a Monmouth/Bristol City crew. They managed to win those races which took them to the final against Bristol Uni's top 4+. Unfortunately, after a tough trace they were beaten by a length, so no silverware there

Sunday was a straight final against Radley College. In the end we lost by a length and a half; not a bad result considering Radley College's recent performances at Nat Schools.

No medals this time for SURC but it was a good test for our HRR crew with lots learnt for next time.
